  • Students must also show enough funds for living expenses when applying for a US student visa (F-1), usually covering one full academic year of tuition + living costs.

  • For other levels (Bachelor, Master, most diplomas), dependants usually cannot come immediately as student dependants, though they may apply later under normal family-reunification rules.

4. Work & Post-Study Options

  • During studies, eligible international students can work up to 20 hours per week in term time and up to 40 hours per week in certain holiday periods.
  • After graduation from an eligible Level 8 or Level 9 programme, you can apply for the Third Level Graduate Programme (Stamp 1G), which allows you to stay in Ireland temporarily to look for full-time work.
